DIY Wii Usb sensor Bar with optional On/Off Switch

Ok you wanna try Dolphin and you don't want to put 2 candles under your monitor.
Yes its working and its funny but its not comfortable.
So let's see how we can make a Wii and Dolphin compatible Usb powered ,we dont need the additional cost of batteries for wireless solution, with optional power switch.

Mats
  1. 4 x Infra Red leds. You can harvest them from old remote controls (Tv,stereo etc.) or buy them at local store. You can try with 2 but i am not sure about the results.
  2. Some tape
  3. Some cables
  4. A Usb cable
  5. Something to hold Leds 30cm
  6. Optional Solder iron
                             And a power switch.
If you dont want to mess around with solder just tape the cables with the leds and make sure that they dont touch each other.Put some tape.
If you have bought leds from store its pretty obvious which foot is + but if you have to harvest them from a remote make sure first to find out which leg is for +.I followed the connections down to the batteries and mark the + leg of each led.Cut the usb cable and keep only red,and black wire tape the rest of them.
Red goes to + of the first led.
After that everything is simple keep connecting from - to next +
You can connect the red usb cable directly to the led but i preferred to connect them with a separate cable.
After you are sure about the connection make a quick test.Grab your mobile and look from camera your
leds wile they are powered on.If everything is ok you will see them on through the camera.

  Mount the leds.

I also connected a simple switch.I didnt like to put usb all the time.

Using a box i can put all the usb cable inside if i want to store it,and with a small mod to store wii controller inside.
Now you are ready to play with your new Wii sensor bar or enjoy Dolphin emulator.
